Accidentally had a look into Chinese grammar.
If pronunciation wasn't so hard on me, I'd probably give it a shot (the number of natives is almost endless out there). At least speaking/writing/hearing like with Japanese. But pronunciation kills any desire to even meddle with it in me.
中国话可能是世界上最难学的语言。
(it means 'Chinese is probably the most difficult to learn language in the world' or as far as I understand ^^)
I'd not dare to read it 'right' :D
My kanji-trained eye immediately caught familiar symbols. But I'd be learning traditional Chinese then, cuz Japanese use traditional symbols.
Maybe - just maybe - I'd give it a quick look.
